Yellow Jacket
Ritchie Engineering Company was started in 1946 by Jack Ritchie as a manufacturers representative organization before becoming a hose manufacturer in the late 40's. Jack's father, John Sr., came out of retirement to help out part time and stayed for about another 30 years. With the emphasis on quality and service, the hose developed at Ritchie was trademarked in 1950 as Yellow JacketŪ Charging Hoses. Today, it's the industry's leading line of hoses. During the 60s, the Yellow Jacket brand and reputation expanded to include test and charging manifolds.
Jack’s two sons, Steve and Tom, joined the company in the early 70s and lead the business today as the top management team. Through the years they helped bring vacuum pumps and tubing tools to market during the continued growth of the 70s and 80s.
It’s a growth pattern and commitment to quality that continues today with the acquisition of RST, a leading recovery systems manufacturer, and Corrosion Consultants, a UV lights and dyes manufacturer. Ritchie developmental resources are currently focused on completing a line of Yellow Jacket electronic products. Building on the position as a leading supplier of air conditioning and refrigeration tools in the U.S., Ritchie Engineering is expanding the Yellow Jacket brand and reputation worldwide.

Yellow Jacket product line includes: Yellow Jacket refrigerant recovery system, heated sensor leak detector, vacuum gauge, digital thermometer
